Liefmans Fruitesse is a fruit beer, one of the cult varieties of Belgian beer, belongs to the lambic category. The Liefmans brewery was founded in 1679 in the city of Oudenaarde in East Flanders. The distinctive taste of Liefmans is formed as a result of fermentation in open vats and mixing young and aged varieties of beer. Liefmans Fruitesсe is aged for 18 months on freshly picked cherries with the addition of strawberry, raspberry, blueberry and elderberry juices. After fermentation is complete, the beer acquires a refreshingly sweet taste and a light sparkle.
